A Study to Evaluate the Effects of a Supplement on Mucus Clearance and Respiratory Symptoms

In brief
This is a randomized, triple-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial evaluating the effects of the BetterLungs Mullein + Chlorophyll supplement on mucus clearance and respiratory symptoms over 60 days. One hundred adult participants experiencing chest mucus build-up, difficulty clearing mucus, breathlessness, and low energy levels will be enrolled and randomized to either the active supplement or a matched placebo. Participants will take their assigned product once daily in the morning mixed with water and will complete self-reported questionnaires at Baseline, Day 20, Day 40, and Day 60.

Age: 18 and older. Sex: any. Healthy volunteers: accepted.
You may qualify if…
- Be male or female
- Be aged 18+
- Anyone experiencing issues regarding all of the following over the past three months: a build-up of chest mucus, difficulty clearing chest mucus, breathlessness, and low energy levels
- Anyone who is generally healthy - does not live with any uncontrolled chronic disease
- Willing to refrain from taking any products, prescription medications, or supplements that target lung health, mucus, and energy levels during the test period
- Willing to maintain your current diet, sleep schedule, and activity level for the duration of the study
- Resides in the United States
- Not currently partaking in another research study and will not be partaking in any other research study for the next 60 days and at any point during this study's duration
- If currently taking prescription medication are willing to discuss it with their physician before participating in this study
You may not qualify if…
- Anyone with pre-existing chronic conditions that would prevent participants from adhering to the protocol, including kidney disease, diabetes, cancer, mental health disorders, history of serious illness in the last three months, history of substance abuse, or planned surgery during the study period
- Anyone who drinks heavily (i.e. 8 or more alcoholic drinks per week for women or 15 or more alcoholic drinks per week for men)
- Anyone with a copper sensitivity disorder (such as Wilson's disease or copper metabolism disorders)
- Anyone with kidney disease
- Anyone with diabetes
- Anyone with any known allergies or hypersensitivities to any supplement product ingredients
- Anyone who is currently pregnant, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding
