General objective To assess the role of indirect calorimetry in measuring energy expenditure and assess guided nutritional support among critically ill patients in the ICU. Specific Objectives 1. To assess the nutritional status of critically ill patients admitted to the ICU. 2. To measure energy requirements of critically ill patients using indirect calorimetry. 3. To compare measured energy requirements obtained by indirect calorimetry with those estimated by predictive equations.
