• Medical Condition:
• Preterm infants (current age plus length of gestation is less than 40 weeks)
• Has taken antipyretic in previous 2 hours
• Inflammation at the measurement site
• Medical conditions that affect temperature readings (barbiturates, thyroid, antipsychotics, recent immunizations)
