Age: 18 and older. Sex: any. Healthy volunteers: not accepted.

You may qualify if…

• healthy adult nonsmokers
• onset of acute, viral upper respiratory tract infection (common cold) within 72 hours of enrollment

You may not qualify if…

• smokers
• history of asthma or other respiratory disorders
