- Sufficient bone stock to support prosthesis

- Previous hip replacement
- Significant angular/bony deformity
- Active joint sepsis
- Metal allergy
- Renal transplant
- Psychosocial disease
- Neurological disease/musculoskeletal disease that may affect weight-bearing
