Age: 18 and older, up to 70. Sex: any. Healthy volunteers: not accepted.

You may qualify if…

• hemoglobin > 11
• absolute neutrophil count >1,200
• naive to peg interferon and ribavirin

You may not qualify if…

• Prior treatment for hepatitis C
• Pregnant or nursing
